Storing geraniums over winter

There is something pretty special about keeping a plant alive for more than a season. Don’t get me wrong: I love the freedom of picking annuals each year knowing they will die. But some plants are worth caring for long term, maybe because you are trying to save money (for other plants, right?). Maybe because it’s hard to get a particular variety new each year. OR maybe you just like a challenge. It’s all good. My parents taught me how to store down geraniums, and finally this summer I got a variety of classic red geraniums that looked amazing on my front porch–well worth the repeat!
